  2. TEENAGERS LYRICS AND ANALYZATION
They gonna clean up the looks,
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you
Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you son
so they can watch all the things you do

    Because the drugs never work
They gonna give you a smirk
‘Cause they’ve got methods of keeping you clean
They’re gonna rip up your heads,
    Your aspirations to shreds,
Another cog in the murder machine

    They said all
    Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
    Someone will bleed
    So dock in your clothes,
    Or stike a violent pose,
    Maybe they’ll leave you alone
    But not me

The boys and girls in the clique,
The awful names that they stick,
Your never gonna fit in much kid
But if your troubled and hurt,
What you got under you shirt,
Will make em pay for things that they did!

    They said now
    Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
    Someone will bleed
    So tuck in your clothes,
    I’ll strike a violent pose,
    Maybe they’ll leave you alone
    but not me
    whoa yeah!

    They said now

    Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
    Someone will bleed
    So tuck in your clothes,
    I’ll strike a violent pose,
    Maybe they’ll leave you alone
    but not me

    All together now!

    Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
    Someone will bleed
    So tuck in your clothes,
    I’ll strike a violent pose,
    Maybe they’ll leave you alone
    but not me

    Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me,
They can care less as long as,
    Someone will bleed
    So tuck in your clothes,
    I’ll strike a violent pose,
    Maybe they’ll leave you alone
    but not me

The website I usually go to for help in analyzing lyrics didn’t help much, so I’m going solo on this one. I think this just talks about how people in society judge the people who claim to goths, metalheads, punks, rivetheads, and even the people who really are. Everyone suspects them to be “paranoid” and “dark” and have absolutely no joy, but that’s not right at all. Basically, I think this is a song Mrs. Hatcher (my school’s principal, it is a uniformed school) would dedicate to us. In the school, you cannot show signs of uniqueness. That was the first thing I was told when entering the school. This is kind of a hard song to analyze, so forgive me if I’m wrong, but all in all, I think this is saying, yeah, teenagers are considered “rambunctious” and “rebels” at this age, but to just be yourself. Don’t follow what everyone else is doing, and speak your heart out. Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know. I gave it my best shot.

  3. FAMOUS LAST WORDS SONG LYRICS AND INTERPRETATION
    Now I know
That I can’t make you stay
    But where’s your heart?
    But where’s your heart?
    But where’s your…

    And I know
    There’s nothing I can say
    To change that part
    To change that part
    To change…

    So many
Bright lights, that cast a shadow
    But can I speak?
    Well is it hard understanding
    I’m incomplete
    A life that’s so demanding
    I get so weak
    A love that’s so demanding
    I can’t speak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

    Can you see
    My eyes are shining bright
    ‘Cause I’m out here
    On the other side
Of a jet black hotel mirror
    And I’m so weak
    Is it hard understanding
    I’m incomplete
    A love that’s so demanding
    I get weak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

These bright lights have always blind..ed me
These bright lights are always blind..ed me
    I say

I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I’d never speak
    Awake and unafraid
    Asleep or dead

(How can I see, I see you lying) ‘Cause I see you lying next to me
(How can I see, I see you lying) With words I thought I’d never speak
(How can I see, I see you lying) Awake and unafraid
(How can I see, I see you lying) Asleep or dead

‘Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I’d never speak
    Awake and unafraid
    Asleep or dead

‘Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I’d never speak
    Awake and unafraid
    Asleep or dead

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
    (Or dead)
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
    (Or dead)
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
    (Or dead)
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

I went looking up the interpretations this time again on the web and what I found was really interesting. What I read is that this is the tale of two lovers, one is dead cannot speak and is so weak. He is saying he wants to die, while the other is saying she’s not afraid of living and she’ll have to live it with out him and that he’s forgiven for wanting to die. My guess is the “famous last words” in this song are “I’m going to pass away, I see there are time when i should grieve and time when ‘I’m not afraid to keep on living, to walk this world alone’ and he finally sees the beauty in life, ready to move on. Once you think about it, they are moving in a way. There are a lot of us in the world who do not want to die. Mostly because they’re not ready, they want to live it to the fullest, and as time progresses, you start to learn about life:yes, it’s never fair, never. At times life will give you its worst, at other times, it can give you its best. It’s life, and that’s the mystery of it. The mystery of everything. Life’s amazing, once you think about it, beautiful. Even though we’re destroying it constantly everyday. Anyway, to summarize, I conclude this song is telling a tale of two lovers, one still wanting to move on with life while the other is ready for the afterlife, the moral being life is a beautiful thing, and really, it’s the drive of us that makes us want to go on with life or not. Remember this is only my interpretation, and your interpretations may be much more diverse than mine. If so, I’d be more than eager to hear it. :)
