A rebel army in central Africa has abducted over 25,000 children over the past 2 decades,  forcing them to fight as child soldiers. I’m working with Invisible Children to help fund projects on ending this war and bringing these children home.

Even though these thoughts are not real,
There are words I never knew that I feel.

I love the way you hold me close
Like I’m you’re only purpose.

These thoughts are my rose,
Because they are attracting to oppose.

With the thorns I’m gripping on
Leaving me pain that is now gone.

The more I think about my rose,
The more together I’m decomposed.

Holding on to my hopes and dreams,
There is more to the eye than it seems.

It just looks like I lay here
Waiting for future cheer.

Waiting for someone to notice me
It’s so hard to notice when you can’t see.

I’ll wait until all ends
Maybe up above we can be friends.

I wait here waiting ever so patiently,
Why don’t I join the bandwagon and wait impatiently?

My rose, my rose
This poem goes to a close.

My rose is not noun
But broken down.

I am my rose.

While there I stand
With open arms and a loveable heart–
All of those times it was ripped apart.

I still wait for open arms
Cradling me in his arms
Holding me close.

He’ll hold me like the
Most delicate flower in the world.
Treating my heart as the flower.

He’ll love me till life’s end,
Refusing to never leave my side,
Always needing me.

I’ll need him as much as the
Air I breathe, the life I live,
And the man I live for.

And here I lie,
Waiting, waiting for my darling
When he’ll look me in the eyes.

I’ll wait ever so reverently,
With my heart jumping out its rib cage…
Waiting, waiting for those words.

“I love you” he’ll say,
Holding me, cradling me.
“I’ve been waiting, waiting.”

Then there awaits a world for us to explore
With his hand in mine,
I lay indestructible.

That’ll be the day
When all that begins will never end.
I’ll be waiting, waiting.

The blood that was shed
The tears that fell
The internal bleeding you caused
Was because of me.

Was it me
Was it you
Was it us?
Was it not meant to be?

We were young
We were foolish
We were crazy.
Now, we are no longer.

Memories of me
When I was young,
Singing a home-made tune
By the Big Tree.

Now I’m Grasping
The worms of my past,
Wriggling out of my hands
And into my skin.

Claustrophobic because I don’t know
Why I do what I do
Maybe to get more attention
When I have more so.

Now here I am,
Cramped in a refrigerator
Days old, getting sick off
Cooking a 13-year-old ham.

A messiah, A savior
Someone help me
I cannot stand the heat
And I’ve lost the flavor.
